Haunt The Woods is an up-and-coming Cornish four piece and their latest track, ‘Amethyst’, is a blend of atmospheric rock and folk music, with Pink Floyd inspired layers of progressive rocked worked in. The crunchy main riff contrasts the dreamy chordal pads beneath, while the layered, soaring vocals provide a melodic, hook filled chorus. Lyrically, the track provides a poignant, simple message: “no, no I won’t do this anymore”, while the production is thick, building up into a passionate wall of sound fronted by a powerful lead vocal and a tapped electric guitar riff.
